  • Gain insights on why and how the building industry in Hong Kong is preparing the city’s buildings for the negative impacts of climate change via the adoption of climate-resilient and carbon-neutral approaches.
  • Seek further knowledge enhancement in the area of sustainable buildings by attending professional training and / or joining professional bodies such as HKGBC.

Speakers

Michele Lui

Manager (Business Development)

Graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Building Engineering and Management degree in 2012, Michele joined Hip Hing Construction Group as a Management Trainee and was the project in charge of few recent notable MiC Projects, namely InnoCell, Yuen Long and Penny’s Bay Phase 3A for the HKSAR Government.

She was the ex-Chairperson and Council Member of The Chartered Institute of Building Novus. Currently, she is the Council Member of PolyU BRE Alumni Association, Officer of Hong Kong Construction Association Young Members’ Society and Committee of Construction Industry Council Young Affairs Committee.

She recently received the Chief Executive’s commendation 2022 in recognition of her contributions to the construction industry. She is also the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Young Achiever of the Year 2021, Chartered Institute of Building Construction Manager of the Year 2020 and CIC Outstanding Construction Manager Sustainability Award 2020.

David Gallacher

Director, Environment

Dr. David Gallacher is an environmental specialist with AECOM, and has worked across the Asia region, based primarily in Hong Kong but also having spent time in Shanghai, Delhi and Singapore. He has an academic background in ecology and environmental management, and has experience in a wide range of project types including environmental planning, impact assessment and monitoring, nature-based solution design, sustainable urban planning , water sensitive urban design and ESG Reporting. David current HKIEIA ExCom Secretary and member of the HKIQEP.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

A move towards a more quantitative understanding of our relationships with nature, allowing us to identify risks and dependences and plan for a nature-positive future.

Antonia Da Cruz

Head of Community

Antonia began her career in the financial industry spending five years in equity sales and research at brokerage house CLSA, before moving to Singapore to join RHB Banking Group deliver clients a full suite of banking products. In 2015, she made the monumental decision to switch careers and pursue her passion in health & wellness, returning to Hong Kong to join the GuavaPass team as its General Manager until the company was acquired by its biggest competitor ClassPass in January 2019.

Since then, Antonia has worked with other start ups, like social enterprise Kindred in the UK, and most recently at a progressive mental health clinic mindish. As a wellness advocate, Antonia is a certified Neuro Linguistic Practitioner, has completed her EKAA Level 5 hypnotherapy course, Reiki Level 2, and RYT 300. She joined Zero2 a few months ago to help drive more social and wellbeing practices throughout the community.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

Negawatt’s newly launched B2B2C app, Zero2 rewards individuals that contribute to Hong Kong’s ESG and 2050 net zero target. Our vision is to create Asia’s largest regenerative economy with smart and sustainable cities.

 

Yiksing Yeung

Senior Product Manager

Yiksing has been an enthusiastic advocate on the use of decarbonisation technologies to respond to sustainability challenges, with particular focus in new energy and energy storage. As a technology lead in his role and a member of CLP’s Energy Storage Development Group, Yiksing has deployed pilot energy storage solutions in Hong Kong and advocating new energy storage technology to the CLP’s broader businesses regions across the Asia-Pacific.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

I look forward to enabling our customers and the wider society on their decarbonisation journey with technology and decarbonisation solutions.
